The CEO of ONEP mobilizes German businessmen to invest in the water sector

Out of 3,000 billion to be mobilized to ensure the availability of drinking water throughout the national territory, only 1,200 billion have been mobilized. The Director General of the National Drinking Water Office, Mr. Ibrahiman BERTE presented the table of the sector, before explaining to the German partners that the water sector in Côte d'Ivoire needs 1800 billion to fill the deficit. This announcement was made during a business opportunities panel, held on Wednesday November 30, 2022 at the Noom Hotel located in the Plateau.

Placed under the chairmanship of the Minister of Hydraulics, Sanitation and Health, Mr. Bouaké FOFANA, represented by his Technical Advisor, Mr. Fidèle BEHIBRO, this panel, whose theme was "Main challenges, trends and funding opportunities in the water sector in Côte d'Ivoire", was moderated by Mr. Ibrahiman BERTE, Director General of ONEP and Mr. Amadou BAKAYOKO, Director General of SODECI.

This exchange platform, which could probably lead to B to B, has enabled German companies to inquire about future projects in Côte d'Ivoire relating to the sector, to also present their products as well as their solutions, in with a view to consolidating their regional commitment. And this, with the aim of promoting their know-how in the water and sanitation sector.

The representative of the Minister Mr. Fidèle BEHIBRO encouraged this kind of meeting, before greeting the initiators, the German water partnership (GWP) in collaboration with the delegation of German industry and trade in Ghana (AHK-GHANA) and the African Water Association (AWA).
